  • Well, the worst is over.  I don't have to work again until Friday.  I don't have anything due until Wednesday.  and then after that I only have one more test and one more paper and I'm done.

saying goodbye to more friends will not be fun.

    Life goes on.

  • It's beautiful!

It all started with a quick trip to the library to return some books that were soon to be overdue.  Then, it happened.  I discovered it was the most beautiful night I've been able to enjoy in quite some time.  I leisurely walked to the library, enjoying the cool breezes and the warm temperatures.  I could smell spring on the air.  I walked into Jackson Hall, popped into the library, dropped my books off, walked back out the doors, and decided that, even though I had homework awaiting me, I would take the time for a trip around the quad.  I closed my eyes, being careful that I was on a straight path, and, breathing in deeply, enjoyed a few moments to myself in the beauty of God's creation.  As I walked on, after opening my eyes, so I didn't run into anyone or anything, I saw spring beginning to bud on campus.  The buds on the trees were forming, promising forthcoming leaves, the smell of dirt wafted by me as I walked past a large expanse of lawn with no grass growing.  It was a beautiful night.  I could see girls jogging ahead of me.  Good for them, I thought.  I'll just keep my leisurely pace.  I could hear voices coming from down by the pond, signifying couples enjoying their last few moments together before curfew.  I passed the tennis courts where several were playing, also enjoying the benefits of the final arrival of spring. I walked past a couple also walking around the quad.  Funny how warm, spring weather brings out the couples, and even, I'm convinced, encouraging of the starting of a relationship.  As I neared my dorm, I thanked God that spring had finally arrived, and determined to add this entry to those posted beforehand.  In all the dismalness of winter, spring has finally conquered.  Even though I still see patches of snow here and there.

  •  I'm ready for winter to be over.  As I left Jackson Hall and stepped around the corner of the giant stone building, I felt the wind whip around me and tear at me as if I had no business being where it wanted to go.  It threatened to push me off the sidewalk, or even lift me up into the air and take me for an undesirable ride.  Snow then joined in the fight against my making it back to my dorm.  It jumped off the ground, throwing itself at me in little pellets, stinging with every contact it make with my face.  I stumbled along, trying to make headway towards my cozy dorm room I knew awaited me.  When I closed my eyes, I could have sworn I was facing the terrible tundra of Antarctica.    What happened to the other day, I wondered, when I could close my eyes and feel the sun beaming down it's warmth upon me, and I could almost smell the freshness of spring, the hope and new birth it brought.  I could see the green grass and the leaves budding into new greenness!  But alas, today that dream was gone.  No more was spring just around the next corner; now it was just a distant memory of something that once was.  Winter's cold tentacles dug deep into my heart, bringing despair and doom to my once cheery soul.  Will spring ever come and kick winter into it's own dark dreariness? Or will winter continue to reign and bring dark feelings to the world of BBC?
